Tropical Storm Isaias formed in the Gulf on Wednesday and is forecast to become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season, with the coast from Mississippi to the Florida Panhandle facing the worst of the storm surge when it strikes late Friday or early Saturday, the National Hurricane Center said.
