He defied gravity, but not rules of handling flammable objects.

TikTok user Shelton Zane got more than he bargained for when he attempted to recreate Cythnia Erivo's iconic Wicked performance in Defying Gravity - only for it to end in flames.

The 24-year-old posted the chaotic clip to TikTok, showing him sitting on a broomstick in a living room with an open fire.

The Utah-based content creator was whizzing around his living room in the dramatic performance when he got a little too close to the fire - resulting in the end of the broomstick immediately catching fire.

When Shelton noticed the flame he immediately freaked out, throwing the broomstick to the side as his friends did their best to help.

One picked up the broomstick, and repeatedly smashed it on the floor in an attempt to put the flames out.

Eventually, someone picked up the flaming broom and threw it back into the fire, so it didn't set anything else alight.

While the at-home production could gave brought the house down - literally - viewers loved the dramatic clip.

'It looked kinda cool though 10/10 production,' one user laughed.

'The way it ignited is UNREAL. This deserves 20 million views,' declared another.

'The song, the monopoly board, the combustion. This is what art should be,' agreed someone else.

'And the Academy Award for best short film goes to… ' teased another viewer.

'IT IGNITED SO QUICKLY HAHAHA,' another amazed fan wrote.

Earlier in the year, viewers were astounded to learn that the most dangerous and fire-prone part of the house wasn't open flames - but something inside the bathroom.

A firefighter's wife revealed the exhaust fan in the bathroom can cause the most dangerous and fast-spreading house fires - and few people suspect it.

Jess, who posts under the username @unhingedreviewswjess, explained her husband - who has been a firefighter for 17 years - calls this type of fire a 'house burner'.

'In his opinion, it's the most dangerous fire to get started in a house,' she shared. 'And the reason why is because no one ever thinks to clean [the bathroom fans].'

Jess explained to properly clean an exhaust fan, it requires taking the fan out of the ceiling and cleaning the inside of the fan to remove the potential years of dust and dirt that accumulate in the fans.

'When the fan shorts out it gets hot enough to start a fire,' she explained. 'The fire actually goes up into the attic space, the crawlspace, of the home, and the fire is allowed to develop over the ceiling and over the fire detectors.'

'And by the time anyone realizes there’s a fire, it’s usually too late,' she added.

Jess pointed out the attic is usually full of 'dry flammable materials' - which would mean the space is set ablaze immediately.

'Only use these fans when needed,' she advised. 'Don't use them more than 15 minutes at a time, turn them off before you leave the house and turn them off before you go to bed.'
