PALO ALTO, CA — Local woman Brittany Robinson was kicked out of the local ladies lunch group after it became very apparent she had nothing bad to say about her husband.
"Brittany simply hasn't lived up to our group's standards," said group organizer Jena Butterfield. "When we get together, there's a level of husband-bashing we've just come to expect at these gatherings. Then Brittany comes in with her ‘I really love my husband; he's such a great guy, blah blah blah.' It really kills the vibe, you know what I mean?"
Robinson was reportedly disappointed for being excommunicated from the group over her liking her husband. "I'm so sorry I let y'all down. I just think my husband Dave is great and I don't like saying awful things about him," sighed Robinson. "I mean, he's not perfect, but I'm still his biggest fan. I wish the ladies could talk about books or the fun things our kids do or whatever. It's a real bummer."
The group decided to kick Robinson out after she admitted at their recent lunch outing that she really didn't have much to add to the hour-long conversation about how the women's husbands weren't living up to the standards the ladies had placed on them. "Brittany was mostly silent, and then we we asked her about Dave, she just said, 'Um, well, Dave isn't perfect and neither am I. But he's a pretty great husband and I'm thankful for him.' Ugh, right? Like, what even is that? We had no choice but to kick her out."
At publishing time, the group had also kicked out member Christina Landry after Landry said she loved being a mom.
