Wyndham Clark’s Sports Psychologist, Meant To Help Mental Toughness, Abandons Him In Middle Of US Open

You’ve got to be kidding me.

Despite a crowd that was utterly ruthless, Wyndham Clark managed to reign victorious Sunday at the U.S. Open. And he also managed to get the win without his psychologist, who (get this) couldn’t handle the heat from fans and completely abandoned him.

As far as his actual play, Sunday was terrible for Clark. Going into the U.S. Open‘s last round, Clark had a whopping six-shot advantage, but he only ended up winning the tournament by just one. Fortunately for Clark, he avoided what would have been one of the worst collapses in golf history. (RELATED: Trump Weighs In On Issue Splitting Golf Fans, PGA Stars Everywhere)

If the horrendous play wasn’t bad enough, it was mixed with the Shinnecock Hills crowd loudly being against him. In fact, the fans were so ruthless that numerous hecklers were reportedly kicked out by police.

Well, if you don’t know, Clark has a sports psychologist who goes by the name of Julie Elion. Things got so rough for her and Clark in terms of the fans that she had to go inside, blatantly abandoning her client.

“It got to me,” said Elion, per Golf.com. “I had to go inside and talk to somebody.”

And from there, Clark was left by himself against the pressure of the tournament and a bunch of rowdy New Yorkers, though she later returned, per International Business Times.

Sports psychologist Julie Elion knows the importance of the mental game when it comes to Wyndham Clark’s quest for the 2026 U.S. Open title. 👀

I’m sorry, but this is pathetic … how on earth are you a psychologist, a mental toughness coach, and you can’t handle any of this? … Wow.
