Despite really enjoying the game Dressmaker, I’m find fashion generally…challenging. Sure, I can make dresses that the characters find suitable because they meet their fabric and color and style requirements. But they’re often awkward, or cobbled together from weird fabrics that no one in real life would pair. That’s fine. I’m having fun!
Some people, conversely, are very good at design and making dresses, and I enjoy looking at all their creations. But some of you need to calm down. This is too much. It’s too good:

I was alerted to this problem of too much talent by Sisi Jiang over on Bluesky, who spotted the dress above and shared it. That’s the Great Wave off Kanagawa. On a dress. Come on! That’s not the only famous art piece this creator has done either, no sir:

I popped on over to the Dressmaker subreddit to make sure no one else was making anything this excellent and was immediately knocked to the floor with shock at the level of incredible talent on display already. This game just came out guys! I’m fairly sure this sort of thing is illegal!
I could post these all day. They’re not all super elaborate dresses, either. There are some really impressive efforts to copy real-life dresses or dresses of fictional characters. I really liked this dress that looks like it was inspired by Mirabelle’s dress from Encanto:
This is a super cool Alice in Wonderland dress that looks like it’s cel-shaded:
And this one’s just funny and I wanted to share it for a laugh:
I’m trying to be normal about this: a lot of these more elaborate dresses are definitely using later-game materials and patterns that I don’t have access to yet, so I couldn’t make some of those big ballgowns right now if I tried. But also, these folks are just off-the-charts and I will never catch up and I am making my peace with that. Here’s a few more I thought were cool:
