Anne Hathaway issued an apology for the “horrifying” viral video of herself ordering photographers around at the “Verity” premiere Tuesday.
The actress told “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” viewers the following evening that the clip, which has circulated widely on social media, is “the stuff of nightmares.”
In the footage — which Hathaway, 43, said she knew Jimmy Fallon would bring up during Wednesday’s show — the Oscar winner went into “mom mode by way of chorus line.”
Standing between co-stars Dakota Johnson and Ismaël Cruz Córdova, Hathaway told snappers exactly where she and her fellow cast members would look.
“We are going to start from the left and then we can make our way that way,” the “Princess Diaries” star explained before pointing at each as she counted to 10.
Johnson, 36, joked, “And then I’m gonna leave.”
Hathaway covered her eyes on Wednesday as the headline-making moment played.
“I was trying to be helpful,” she explained. “There were so many of us and the photographers were getting upset, and the vibe was changing.”
The Golden Globe winner confessed that “as soon as [she] was done,” her first thought was, “Oh, no.”
She continued, “I apologize everybody. That girl came out to play last night. Actually, she didn’t come to play. She came for business.”
Social media users had a heyday with the video, with one dubbing Hathaway a “red carpet traffic cop.”
The Emmy winner stunned at the New York event, showing off her baby bump in a strapless Prabal Gurung gown.
Hathaway is pregnant with her and husband Adam Shulman’s third baby, with the little one set to join big brothers Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.
The “Devil Wears Prada” star told Fallon, 52, on Wednesday that her main pregnancy symptoms have been acne and “the craziest sense of smell.”
She added, “First trimester, my goal was not to dry heave in public. Third trimester, my goal is not to waddle in public.”
