The National Crime Agency (NCA) has exposed an "evil" tactic used by smuggling gangs to tempt migrants across the Channel.
People smugglers are using "coded language" on TikTok to lure migrants to make the perilous crossing.
Online accounts are using artificial intelligence-generated images of lions, emojis of “ninjas”, Union Flags or boats and planes, to avoid detection from officers.
Now, a leading NCA investigator has said the videos aim to tempt those desperate enough to make the dangerous journey "for almost all migrants arriving" in Britain.
One video shows a suspected Albanian people smuggler next to a scenic lake wearing a balaclava, with three child-sized dinghies behind him.
Soundtracked by an Albanian rap song, he tells the camera: "Are you bored with this life? Grab a boat and get out on the sea."
The account was deleted after it was flagged to TikTok, reports The i Paper.
In the first half of the year, TikTok removed 17,000 posts and accounts for advertising crossings, at least 10,000 of which originated within the UK
However, despite officials cracking down on the videos, the ads remain on the site, as smugglers encourage more people to come to Britain on "mega dinghies" that can carry up to 230 people across at one time.
Minister for border security and asylum Anna Turley told The i: "Videos encouraging people to make dangerous Channel crossings show the evil tactics used by smuggling gangs to line their own pockets.
"Disrupting the criminal business models used by these gangs means cutting off their operations on all fronts, targeting both their online advertising as well as the illegal crossings that their videos promote."
