Members of the Chinese press corps pushed and shoved American reporters and U.S. Secret Service members outside the White House ahead of Xi Jinping’s visit with President Donald Trump on Thursday.
Multiple videos captured by White House reporters show Chinese journalists jockeying for a better position while refusing directions from members of the U.S. Secret Service.
“Lots of shouting and raised voices as they refuse to move for Secret Service,” Connor Stringer of The Telegraph reported.
The Washington Examiner’s Christian Datoc, stated, “It’s getting very heated USS and WH officials threatening to remove one Chinese official for interfering with shots and official WH cams.”

Iris Tao of NTD News reported later in the morning that Chinese photographer shoved a U.S. female journalist inside the White House briefing room.
“A Chinese male photographer shoved an American female reporter while rushing through the briefing room door to the Oval Office bilateral,” she said.

Trump is currently hosting Xi at the White House for high-stakes talks and a lavish state summit, which marks the Chinese president’s first official state visit to the U.S. capital in over a decade.
Trump welcomed Xi with a military flyover, and in each leaders’ opening remarks, they emphasized the importance of the discussions surrounding artificial intelligence. The pair are also expected to discuss Taiwan and the war in Iran.
