A beloved couple were killed in a horrific car crash after a Mercedes G-Wagon, allegedly occupied by four teens who were fleeing police in New Jersey, smashed head-on into their vehicle.
Alice Stilwell, 67, and Robert Barr Jr, 54, died Saturday in Mays Landing, about 18 miles from Atlantic City.
Surveillance footage of the crash appeared to show the Mercedes crossing the center line on Route 50 before colliding head-on with a sedan.
Police officers spotted the G-Wagon moments before the crash, according to charging documents cited by Action News.
At about 3.45am, Longport police attempted to stop the Mercedes. However, the driver fled, and officials later determined the vehicle had been stolen.
About four hours later, the roughly 6,000-pound SUV was spotted by Hamilton Township police, who attempted a traffic stop but were unsuccessful after the driver fled.
Moments later, officers were responding to the crash, according to the outlet.
Footage showed at least one of the teens attempting to flee the scene after the crash. The teen appeared uninjured, and all four suspects were arrested.

Nayshaun Brown, 18, and three juveniles have been charged with aggravated assault, as well as conspiracy counts of joyriding, eluding police and receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
Brown is the only suspect charged as an adult, according to BreakingAC. It was unclear at the time of this report who was behind the wheel of the G-Wagon when the crash occurred.
The tragedy has left Stilwell's loved ones devastated as they mourn the loss of the mother and grandmother.
'This unimaginable tragedy has left their family in deep grief, and the shock of how suddenly it happened has made this painful time even harder to bear,' a GoFundMe page established to support the family states.
Stilwell was a hairdresser, while Barr was a bus driver for the Egg Harbor Township School District.
'Mr. Barr was a dedicated member of our transportation team. He was known for his commitment to safety and his care for students. This is certainly an unnecessary tragedy and the loss of a dedicated employee and an awesome person,' Superintendent Dr Kimberly Gruccio said in a statement to Action News.

The New Jersey Attorney General's Office of Public Integrity and Accountability is investigating whether police were actively pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to BreakingAC.
Brown, the only adult charged in the case, also faces a first-degree charge of employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime.
He celebrated his 18th birthday in May and has since accumulated three adult criminal cases in Atlantic County, according to court records cited by the outlet.
Brown appeared in court Monday for central judicial processing.
One of the juveniles charged was released, while another was ordered held, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
A decision regarding the third juvenile is still pending, according to the outlet.
