Much respect to the Japanese — this is some epic stuff.

We’re smack dab in the middle of MLB spring training, and in just a few days, we get the two-game Tokyo Series in Japan between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs where both teams will begin their 2025 campaign.

MLB chose the Dodgers and Cubs for an obvious reason: They’re both loaded with Japanese superstars. For the Dodgers, they have designated hitter Shohei Ohtani, starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and starting pitcher Roki Sasaki, while the Cubs have starting pitcher Shota Imanga and right fielder Seiya Suzuki. In today’s piece, we’re going to focus on that last guy in Seiya Suzuki, who is from Tokyo. He also happens to have an incredibly unique way of taking batting practice.

So check this out: Suzuki takes a samurai sword, goes into the batter’s box and then starts swinging at baseballs. And the end result happens to be perfectly sliced balls right down the middle.

It’s so cool.

And it gets even cooler:

I’m personally excited for the Tokyo Series to get here, hell, I just want baseball to be here. I’ve literally watched every Atlanta Braves spring training game and I have loved every minute of it.

The regular season can’t get here fast enough!
