🏛️ Texas and FBI stopped attack on State Capitol. Texas authorities arrested 40-year-old Benny Caldera after receiving credible intelligence of a planned violent attack on the Texas State Capitol. Caldera told a friend he was "going to the Capitol and I am going to shoot it up" and needed to "exterminate" members of AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee).
🚢 US deploys third aircraft carrier to Middle East. The Trump administration ordered the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Middle East for an extended deployment, joining two carriers already operating in the Arabian Sea. The deployment gives President Trump expanded military options against Iran after the November elections.
🇮🇷 Trump suggests Iran involved in near-hijacking. President Trump said Iran may be connected to the FlyDubai copilot who stabbed his captain and attempted to crash a Tel Aviv-bound plane carrying 174 people, mostly Israelis. The Omani co-pilot is under arrest in the UAE as Israeli, American, and Saudi investigators work to determine his precise motive.
⚖️ DOJ reviewing Watergate prosecutors for misconduct. The Justice Department is examining whether prosecutors who investigated President Richard Nixon committed misconduct during Watergate, more than 50 years after the scandal. The review follows recent comments from Vice President Vance claiming Nixon was unjustly taken down by the deep state.
