USA Boxing should be ashamed of themselves!
The program of United States Boxing announced back in 2023 a new policy on transgenders that allows biological males to beat up on women. The policy is particularly for males who have had a sex reassignment surgery, while also maintaining a level of testosterone. If both things check off, those men are allowed to be competitors in female boxing.
A pro boxer based in Michigan, Sarah Cunningham spoke to OutKick about how she’s upset when it comes to USA Boxing allowing males to fight women.
“A male has a different body structure, bone structure, and muscle structure… and that’s what gives them an advantage,” said Cunningham, who works as a sports dietitian and registered nurse. “Having them come over and take over women’s sports… [even if] they’ve had surgery, it still doesn’t make it right.”
But Cunningham isn’t the only one blasting USA Boxing, so is her coach Jeff Watters.
“My biggest question [for USA Boxing] is would I be notified if one of my girls was about to fight, essentially, a guy? I don’t mean to sound insensitive, but if my girl was going to have to fight a guy, would I be told ahead of time because I’m not good with it and I would pull her out of it,” said Watters.
“And I was told that they would not be obligated to let me know. They would not even be obligated to let the promoter know.” (RELATED: Biological Male Almost Outscores Whole Jewish High School Girls Basketball Team In California)
And then you also have this social media post from Watters…
“If you’re good with this, you’re a f*cking moron.”
