Break it up, gentlemen!
A fist fight reportedly broke out on the set of Netflix’s “The Gentlemen” as Theo James and the cast filmed the series’ third season.
James, who plays Eddie Horniman in Guy Ritchie’s hit series, and his co-stars were preparing to film a fishing scene at West Wycombe Park House in Buckinghamshire, England, when “all hell broke loose,” a source told the Sun Friday.
“Two of the blokes who work on the production started going at it, and one of them ended up getting whacked in the face,” the source told the outlet. “Everyone was just standing there shocked because it all suddenly erupted out of nowhere.”
The source went on to explain that the pair were eventually separated, with one man appearing to have suffered a cut lip, adding that the entire incident was “barmy.”
They added that James, 41, was “totally bemused” by the brawl, explaining, “They are used to violent scenes, but it is all acting. No one had expected a bust-up before the cameras started rolling.”
Page Six reached out to representatives for the show for comment but did not immediately hear back.
“The Gentlemen” premiered on Netflix in March 2024, and its second season debuted last month.
A Netflix representative previously confirmed to Page Six that the crime drama series had already been renewed for a third season, prior to Season 2 streaming.
As previously reported, Meghan Markle was in talks for an unknown role in Season 3, ahead of her and Prince Harry’s return to the UK.
Netflix boss Manda Levin fueled speculation surrounding the Duchess of Sussex’s potential return to acting, saying “all bets are off” when asked about the casting rumors at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August.
James, for his part, joked about the casting buzz when speaking to Town & Country, where he was asked about an ex-royal potentially joining the cast.
“Yes, Fergie is joining,” he quipped, referring to Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, who he joked would “play [his] love interest.”
The “Divergent” actor went on to dismiss the rumors about Markle, 45, as “mainly a lot of hot air,” adding, “At the moment, we’re just trying to get as many eyes on Season 2, and then Season 3 will happen soon.”
Sources later told Page Six Hollywood that Markle had never actually been offered a role but had spoken to the casting director just once.
“She took it as an offer. And it wasn’t,” one source told us. “And [she and Prince Harry] thought it would be helpful in the moment for there to be a reason for their move.”
Another source added that the interest in casting Markle had largely come from Ritchie, 58, himself.
