Summer weekend plans are once again at risk for millions of people across the Southeast, as wet weather is expected to dampen the chances for time outdoors.
A stormy pattern has taken hold of the region, with tropical moisture already surging into Florida and the Carolinas to kick off the weekend.
This moisture will fuel thunderstorms, which will be capable of producing more intense rain than typical summer showers.
A level 2 out of 4 flash flood risk is in place to start the weekend for coastal South Carolina near Charleston with a wider 1 out of 4 threat from Miami to Wilmington, North Carolina.
Localized amounts of more than 2 to 3 inches are possible where slower-moving storms develop during the afternoon.
As a result, some flash flooding will be possible on Saturday across far northern Florida, southeast Georgia and the Carolinas.

Tropical downpours are expected to soak Florida and the Southeast coast, bringing thunderstorms and a flood threat. FOX NewsThrough Sunday, widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible across central Florida and into coastal Georgia and South Carolina.
However, despite the low-end flood threat, the rain will help ease lingering drought conditions across Florida and southern Georgia, which have battled an unusually dry stretch since last summer.
