Fortnite is set to introduce new skins for professional baseball pitcher and hitter Shohei Ohtani. Here’s how you can get all of them.
Collabs in Fortnite don’t just feature characters from video games and TV shows , but they also include famous people in real life, from actors and musicians to streamers and so much more.
Now, in a surprising turn of events, the Battle Royale title didn’t just tease a second wave of the Invincible skins, but they’ve also just unveiled a new collab with Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani.
The Japanese professional baseball pitcher and hitter is set to receive two different skins, one of which can be obtained early in-game. If you’d like to add the Shohei Ohtani Icon Series skins to your locker, we’ve compiled all the details you need to know about them below.
Fortnite Shohei Ohtani collab release date
All the Shohei Ohtani skins will be released on March 17, 2025, at 8 PM ET.
Other than cosmetics, players will also be able to participate in new Shohei Ohtani Quests to earn extra XP, available on March 18, 2025. Rest assured, these quests will last until the end of Chapter 6, Season 2, so you’ll have plenty of time to do them.
All Shohei Ohtani cosmetics
Shohei Ohtani will receive two different Icon Series outfits, all of which can be purchased in the Item Shop. The first outfit features him in the Los Angeles Dodgers uniform with his number 17 jersey, and it will also include additional styles, such as the home and away versions.

On the other hand, unlike the jersey skin, the second outfit has him wearing a samurai suit. This version of the skin is reactive, and according to Epic, it will have some fiery effect on the pitching arm when you secure elims in the game.

How to get the Samurai Shohei Outfit early for free
Fans keen on getting the Samurai Shohei skin early are in luck, as Epic is offering those who compete in the Shohei Ohtani Cup on March 16, 2025, a chance to get this skin.
Players can get the skin early for free before it hits the Item Shop by placing among the higher ranks in the tournament according to their region. The tournament will be based on the Solos format, with a system involving points.
Each elims rewards you with 2 points, but your match placement will also factor into the number of points you rack up. Being the last player standing gives you a whopping 60 points.
