Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance affirmed on Sunday the call of one of the attendees at his Waukesha, Wisconsin, rally who shouted, “Jesus is King” by responding, “That’s right. Jesus is King!”

The current senator from Ohio had been discussing the Biden-Harris administration’s “anti-Christian rhetoric” and “anti-Christian approach to public policy” when someone in the crowd yelled out, “Jesus is King.” Vance’s affirmation was met with thunderous applause.

“I don’t think that we’ve seen anything like this in modern American politics,” he added about the anti-Christian tone of the current administration.

Vance continued that a Trump-Vance administration will protect the rights of people of all faiths, as well as those of no faith.

“So, I know all of you are praying for me,” he told the crowd. “I see the signs. Thank you, Catholics for Trump. We have a lot of non-Catholics as well”:

Donald Trump and I are going to fight for your right to live your values because that is what the First Amendment protects. I think whether you are a Christian, Catholic, or any other faith, or no faith at all, when you see an American leader, a surrogate of Kamala Harris, insulting people of the Christian faith, I think we should say to every single one of those people, you are fired, we are not giving you any more power.

“We are going to respect Christians,” Vance continued. “We are going to respect all people of faith … We believe in the First Amendment. That means, most of all, that we are not going to censor you and silence you.”

“A person who believes in censorship is not fit to lead the world’s greatest Constitutional Republic,” he asserted.

Vance’s remarks came just several days after Harris ignited a firestorm of criticism on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she responded flippantly to two Christian students who shouted out “Christ is King” and “Jesus is Lord” with the remark, “Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally. I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street.”

Pro-life juniors Luke Polaske and Grant Beth told Fox News they were doing “God’s work” by confronting Harris during the rally, where, they explained, they received “a lot of backlash.”

“I was pushed by an elderly woman,” Beth said:

We were heckled at, we were cursed at, we were mocked, and that’s the biggest thing for me personally. In reflection of the event, Jesus was mocked. You know, his disciples were mocked, and that’s okay. In reality, we did God’s work, and we were there for the right reasons, and God is watching us in this moment.

“I’m all about being a cordial person no matter your beliefs, but I do believe that we were sent there by God,” he added.

Conservative activist Robby Starbuck pointed out that Harris is simply continuing a parade of events showing her disdain for Christians.

“This insult to Christians comes right after she became the first Presidential candidate to skip the Catholic Al Smith Dinner since Walter Mondale many, many decades ago,” Starbuck posted on Instagram. “Mondale soon after lost EVERY state except for one.”

“Clearly Kamala doesn’t respect Christians, our beliefs and most importantly, our Savior,” he added. “Every Christian needs to remember this when they vote and share this with their friends.”
