Who Karol G Is and Why the Lima Show Matters

Karol G is the stage name of Carolina Giraldo, a reggaeton and Latin pop singer from Medellín, Colombia’s second city. Her album Tropicoqueta came out in June 2025 and gave her a fourth straight number one on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.

Billboard is the US music magazine whose charts track sales and streams. It said the album’s debut was the biggest streaming week of 2025 yet for a Latin album by a woman.

In 2026 she played the main stage at Coachella, the big music festival in the California desert. She announced this tour from that stage, telling fans “¡Familia! ¡Nos vamos de tour!”, which means “Family, we are going on tour”.

The tour is called Viajando por el Mundo Tropitour, or “Travelling the World Tropitour”. Teleticket says the Lima show will mix songs from Tropicoqueta with the hits that made her name.

Teleticket’s listing promotes the Karol G Lima night as the most important event of early 2027. It names the Peruvian company Bizarro Entertainment y Servicios Perú as the organiser.

The show also lands in a busy season for big concerts at the same venue. BTS, the South Korean band, is playing three nights there this week, on 7, 9 and 10 October, RPP reported.

Karol G last played Peru in 2024, on her Mañana Será Bonito tour, La República reported. That tour filled stadiums across Latin America, the paper added.

Tickets, Prices and How to Buy

Karol G Lima tickets are sold online at Teleticket, the official seller. Sales opened with a presale for BBVA Mastercard holders on Wednesday 29 April 2026 at 9 a.m.

General sale followed on Thursday 30 April, and all prices below include Teleticket’s service fee. On Saturday 10 October, Teleticket marked six of its nine sections as sold out.

The cheapest seats, in the Tribuna Norte or north stand, cost S/172.50 (about US$50) and are sold out. The east and west stands, Tribuna Oriente and Tribuna Occidente, at S/632.50 (about US$184), are gone too.

The top tier, PIT Latina Foreva A and B, costs S/1,840 (about US$534) and is sold out as well. So is the right-hand Tropicoqueta section, priced at S/862.50 (about US$250).

Regular seats remain in Tropicoqueta left at S/862.50 (about US$250) and Viajando por el Mundo at S/402.50 (about US$117). Ten wheelchair places in the east and west stands cost S/575 (about US$167) each and remain on sale.

The Venue and How to Get There

The Estadio San Marcos stands inside the Ciudad Universitaria, the main campus of San Marcos University, in Cercado de Lima. Cercado de Lima is the central district that also holds the old town, inland from the seaside districts popular with visitors.

Door 8 of the stadium faces block 34 of Avenida Óscar R. Benavides, formerly Avenida Colonial, RPP reported. For the BTS shows this week, Lima’s city hall placed portable toilets there and in a nearby park.

Taxis and ride-hailing apps are the simplest way to reach the stadium from Miraflores or Barranco. Agree on a pick-up point away from the gates, because the whole crowd leaves at the same time.

Leave early, since Friday-evening traffic in central Lima can be slow. Teleticket says the Karol G Lima show may start from 9 p.m. and last about two hours.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors
