An argument aboard a Queens subway train turned deadly Wednesday when a madman pulled out a sharp object and fatally stabbed a fellow passenger during the evening rush, police and sources said.

The bloodshed erupted around 5:20 p.m. aboard a packed southbound J Train as it approached Woodhaven Boulevard station, according to authorities.

During the heated exchange, the suspect plunged the sharp object into the 59-year-old victim before barging off the train at the Woodhaven stop, law enforcement sources said.

Photos from the scene show what appears to be a serrated kitchen knife and scattered, bloodied clothing on the platform.

Surveillance footage obtained by The Post shows straphangers pouring out of the subway station and into the street after the harrowing attack.

A man — dressed in a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black shoes and a balaclava — is then seen on the video darting across the street after exiting the platform.

As he ran away, people began to point in his direction, and a group of men nearby ran after him.

Officers quickly moved in and nabbed the person of interest, placing him into custody later Wednesday evening.

It was not immediately clear if the man captured on video was the suspect detained by police.

EMS rushed the critically injured victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The identity of the victim was being withheld pending family notification.

Northbound J trains were forced to bypass the Woodhaven Boulevard station while detectives and crime scene unit officers investigated the deadly transit attack.
