New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani will be in the guest seat next week for a special Big Apple broadcast of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the network announced Thursday.
For one show, the social media-savvy Mamdani will join lefty host Jimmy Kimmel for his eighth-annual stint at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House from Sept. 28 through Oct. 2.
Hizzoner will be one of several high-profile actors, politicians and musicians to grace Kimmel’s stage for the broadcast in front of a live studio audience — including fellow socialist firebrand, Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Getty Images for Empire State Realty TrustOther guests lined up for the five-day stretch of shows at BAM are Mahershala Ali, Paul McCartney, Robby Hoffman, Billy Crystal, Pete Davidson, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Morello, Howard Stern and fellow talk show hosts Seth Meyers and John Oliver.
Musical acts De La Soul, Goose, TV On The Radio, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello will also hit the stage.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” celebrated its 4000th episode earlier this month, taking aim at Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr after a return from a summer break.
The lefty host — who frequently jabs at President Trump and other Republicans — referenced his show’s brief suspension and ongoing clash with Carr in 2025.
Kimmel was briefly suspended by Disney after he made controversial remarks about the assassination of Charlie Kirk that sparked outrage — and ABC said the show would be preempted indefinitely.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC. The show also streams the next day on Hulu.
