Overwatch 2 has yet another collab going on in addition to the upcoming LE SSERAFIM one, but this one is flying a bit under the radar.
It’s not uncommon for Overwatch to partner with other brands for events, but Blizzard has really stepped up its game for OW2.
So far, fans have been treated to One Punch Man, Cowboy Bebop, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Transformers, and more wicked crossovers.
However, not every collab necessarily means there has to be skins associated with it, and that’s exactly the case with Overwatch 2’s latest promotion with Gunnar and it’s perfect for Reaper mains.
Overwatch 2 teams with Gunnar in new collab
On March 10, Gunnar Optiks unveiled its latest Blue Light Gaming glasses in a crossover with Overwatch 2.
“Better focus, better gameplay! How have Gunnar glasses upgraded your gaming sessions?” the company revealed with a picture of the glasses.
These Reaper-themed glasses include the hero’s deathly skull logo and “advanced lens technology” to prevent eyestrain.
The glasses also come with a custom Overwatch 2 pouch and cloth featuring the dangerous Talon hero in all his glory.
Interestingly, this isn’t even the first time Overwatch 2 has worked with a glasses company for a collab.
Two years ago in 2023, Blizzard partnered with Korean glasses company Gentle Monster in what was at the time, the most absurd crossover to date.
While the Gentle Monster collab also featured in-game cosmetics and a special D.Va skin, this Gunnar team-up won’t have any such unlockables.
The Overwatch team is fully embracing its crossover potential with the sequel. Speaking with PC Gamer, Art Director Dion Rogers explained that the team is trying to be more “transformative” with how it puts together cosmetics for collabs by incorporating more VFX.
However, that doesn’t mean every hero is going to be in line for a collab as some are simply easier to design cosmetic items for than others.
