The Birds are headed to D.C.!
The Philadelphia Eagles will be going to the White House after officially receiving an invitation from President Donald J. Trump. The visit will be to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX championship after beating the Kansas City Chiefs in February.
“We sent the invite and they enthusiastically accepted. We are working with them to determine a date and logistics,” said a White House official to Fox News Digital. (RELATED: ‘Sinking Ship’: New York Giants Legend Amani Toomer Blasts GM Joe Schoen Over Failing Franchise)
A spokesperson for the team confirmed to the outlet that “the Philadelphia Eagles organization has accepted an invitation to visit the White House and is currently working on scheduling a date and logistics.”
There was chatter around what the Eagles were going to do after they declined an invitation from Trump back in 2018 after winning the Super Bowl, however, things have changed. Trump said to The Spectator in February that the Eagles would be at the White House this go around.
“They’re coming here. Philadelphia is coming here,” said Trump.
It’s still remarkable to me how much the culture has changed. Once upon a time, everybody was against Trump and us folks on the political right. Nowadays, we run the show. It’s amazing.
And since we’re on the subject of culture change, and I’m writing this fresh off of annoyingly paying nearly $20,000 in 2024 income taxes, how about a major switch-up by completely getting rid of the IRS and their entire nonsensical system?
Quite frankly, I’m tired of being penalized for making money — it’s just straight up robbery at this point.
