From pop star to perfumer.

On Thursday, Tate McRae officially launched Tate 01, her first fragrance that was created in partnership with Scent Beauty, Inc.

“In my beauty routine, fragrance is that final invisible layer that elevates my entire mood,” McRae shared in a press release. “With Tate 01, I set out to craft a scent that feels entirely second-skin: effortless, subtly edgy, and perfectly you.

So it’s fitting that in the perfume’s campaign, the 23-year-old star wears little more than the scent itself.

Standing in profile in a swimming pool, McRae crosses her arms over her bare chest and stares down photographer Mario Sorrenti’s lens, wet hair blowing in the wind.

“It melts in so gracefully that it never wears you; it just enhances who you already are,” McRae said in a release.

“I love to wear it during rehearsals — the scent warms up and moves with my body, allowing me to feel confident.”

Tate 01 opens with sparkling begamot and clary sage, and features a heart of orange flower and hedoine and base notes of sensual moss and creamy tonka.

There’s an innovative ingredient at play too: ISO E Super, a synthetic molecule that “[interacts] with individual skin chemistry” to create an “intimately personalized” scent for each wearer, per the press release.
