“Bachelorette” winner Doug Mason broke his silence about his failed engagement to Taylor Frankie Paul, sharing that he’s “officially moved on.”
“That experience has been looming in my life for some time, and although I’ve been moved on for a long time, I think it’s important that I express to you guys that I have,” Mason said on his Instagram Story Monday.
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity just to go on the show and I met some brothers and I learned a lot about myself.”
He concluded, “I have officially moved on, and this is me saying that I’m going that way. So I hope that everybody can understand that it was in my past and now I’m focusing on my future.”
During the Season 5 premiere of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” Paul confirmed she accepted Mason’s proposal at the end of her axed “Bachelorette” season.
It was also during the Hulu show’s latest season that she admitted to cheating on Mason with her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares her 2-year-old son, Ever.
“This is so bad,” the reality star complained in a confessional before explaining Mortensen texted her as soon as she came home from filming the dating competition series.
“And then I don’t know how it got to the point of like, yeah, he came over to my house and … it was late,” she confessed.
Paul also confirmed she had been sleeping with Mortensen since returning home from the ABC show, which ended filming in December 2025.
About a month after “The Bachelorette” wrapped, Paul ended her engagement to Mason. It is unclear if she disclosed her infidelity to him at the time.
ABC pulled the plug on Paul’s unaired season of “The Bachelorette” in March after a video of a 2023 domestic incident between her and Mortensen was leaked.
As for Paul and Mortensen, they have been locked in a nasty custody battle since the video leak and continue to hurl accusations of domestic abuse at one another.
Despite the controversy surrounding Paul, Page Six reported in April that the “MomTok” member and Mason tried to give their relationship another chance.
At the time, a source told Us Weekly that the pair were “seeing each other” again and “trying to make it work.”
Additionally, Mason shared a supportive social media message to Paul when news of the “Bachelorette” cancellation broke.
“In light of everything that’s happened, I’m just sending out prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked,” Mason wrote on his Instagram Stories.
“All we can do right now is just be hopeful,” he added.
