According to Kentucky law, the Gov’r cannot pick the candidate outside of the party she/he is with. In this case, if McConnell goes, then Gov’r has to pick a Republican.

Elections.

The problem is that seniority rewards sending the same person back again and again.

Last time I checked, that was up to the people of Kentucky.

If term limits worked, California would have a responsible State government. Instead, what we have is a revolving door of nameless tools seeking their next job as lobbyists.

What a horrible feeling that must be. For him to be willing to do that, he must fear experiencing really terrible consequences rather than just sitting home enjoying retirement. I suspect very negative consequences personally are the motivation.
