CV NEWS FEED // Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson introduced a resolution to Congress Jan. 13 proposing that the United States rejoin the Geneva Consensus Declaration on Promoting Women’s Health and Strengthening the Family, which takes a strong stance against an “international right” to abortion.

Jackson stated, according to his website, that rejoining the Consensus Declaration will indicate to the rest of the world that the U.S. protects lives, families, and women’s health.

“The nuclear family is the cornerstone of our nation, and America must once again lead by example and reaffirm our commitment to health and prosperity at every stage of life. I want to thank Senator Daines for co-leading this resolution in the United States Senate, and I urge my colleagues to join me in restoring these family-first policies domestically and globally.”

During his first term, President-elect Donald Trump led the effort behind the Geneva Consensus Declaration, which more than 30 countries signed, but the Biden administration withdrew from the agreement, according to Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, vice president of Government Affairs at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.

“We should stand with the international community for life again,” Musgrave continued. “Representative Jackson’s resolution reaffirms the commitment of nations to protect their most vulnerable citizens, including unborn children, while safeguarding sovereign countries against pressure from the United Nations and others to strip those protections away.”
