Jihadi terrorism in the skies - it’s every passenger’s worst nightmare.
Shortly after 4am British time a Flydubai flight took off, from Dubai, bound for Tel Aviv.
On board were 180 people - 160 of them Israeli nationals.
Then, two hours into the flight - the cockpit transmits an emergency signal, indicating a hijacking attempt and the plane plummets 15,000 feet in less than one minute.
That plane reportedly had 27 children on board as a suspected terrorist tried to kill everyone.
What happened next is the kind of thing they will be making movies out of for years to come.

The passengers apparently stormed the cockpit. They subdued the hijacker and, thankfully, there were some off-duty pilots on board who were sitting at the rear of the plane.
They managed to land the plane safely in Saudi Arabia. It’s at times like this that people might realise that it’s actually a good thing that most Israeli men have to join the IDF.
Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement, confirming that they believe this is a terrorist attack.
Israel’s defence minister has described it as a 9/11-style attack.
What do we know about the co-pilot, who is believed to be the terrorist?
Well, Israeli intelligence say he is an Omani national, who allegedly stabbed the pilot with a knife and tried to sabotage the plane’s controls.
The pilot who was attacked is in a critical condition. He was reportedly given emergency treatment by an Israeli dentist on board.
After a stopover in Saudi Arabia, the passengers made it safely back home to Tel Aviv.
There are some very, very serious questions to be answered here.
How safe are we in the skies? What checks are done on these pilots? What protection does the public have from lone jihadi terrorists? How was he able to bring a knife on board?
An increasing number of Brits now travel through airports in Dubai, Qatar and Saudi Arabia…how safe is that now?
And it should serve as an important reminder to everyone about the level of risk and threat that not just the state of Israel, but Israeli citizens and Jewish people seemingly have to face every single day.
