CV NEWS FEED // Thousands of pro-life advocates will fill the streets of downtown San Francisco Jan. 25 to participate in the 21st Annual Walk for Life West Coast event and provide a voice for the unborn.
Walk for Life West Coast reported in a news release that the rally and walk reflect one of the themes Pope Francis emphasized in the Bull of Indiction of the 2025 Jubilee of Hope, where he wrote: “For the desire of young people to give birth to new sons and daughters as a sign of the fruitfulness of their love ensures a future for every society. This is a matter of hope: it is born of hope and it generates hope.”
“We agree! Since day one, the Walk has tried to be an avenue to hope,” stated Eva Muntean, co-chair and co-founder of the Walk for Life West Coast.
Muntean also said that the walk has grown steadily since its founding 21 years ago, adding that now the entire event spans over a mile of “wall-to-wall people” walking down San Francisco’s Market Street, bearing signs with pro-life messages.
Similar to the March for Life on the other side of the country in Washington, D.C., the event will be preceded by a rally that will feature several pro-life speakers with powerful testimonies.
They include Ryan Bomberger, an author whose mother decided to continue her pregnancy and place him for adoption after being raped, as well as Sister Deirdre Byrne, a doctor, retired U.S. Army colonel, and member of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
Another speaker will be Kelly Lester, who suffered through rape, abortions, and pornography, but later turned to Christianity. Rev. Clenard Childress, Jr., is also on the lineup. Childress is the founder of Black Genocide and an activist especially passionate about the pro-life movement within the African American Community.
