Tom Brady spent Thanksgiving in the broadcast booth.
The NFL analyst, who signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox, called his first Thanksgiving Day game as a broadcaster on Thursday as his kids celebrated the holiday in Costa Rica with his ex Gisele Bündchen.
The legendary quarterback, 47, joined play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt live from Arlington, Texas, for the Dallas Cowboys game against the New York Giants.
Thursday marked Brady’s first time calling the Turkey Day slate and executives reportedly had a few specific things they wanted him to work on.
The head honchos at Fox reportedly wanted the seven-time Super Bowl champion to focus on what’s actually happening on the field as opposed to the intangibles — such as leadership and accountability.
According to Puck, producers requested that he discussed the X’s and O’s and “why a play worked or fell apart.” Overall, they reportedly think he “has gotten better during the past couple of games” and are “confident that he’ll continue to improve.”
The former New England Patriots quarterback flew to Texas a few days early to catch the Knicks-Mavericks contest in Dallas as his kids spent time with their mom.
Earlier this week, a source confirmed to Page Six that Bündchen was taking son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11, with her to Costa Rica for the holiday. The pregnant supermodel is expecting her first child with boyfriend Joaquim Valente.
“Gisele took the kids and headed to Costa Rica with Joaquim to spend the holiday with each other,” the insider shared.
“Tom is supportive and that’s the arrangement he and Gisele have agreed upon.”
However, they noted that the NFL alum will still “have plenty of time to spend with his children during the holiday season.”
Bündchen and Brady announced their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. She moved on with her jiu-jitsu instructor around eight months later.
Brady is also dad to son Jack, 17, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan. The teen also seemingly spent the holiday with his mother as Brady was tied up with work.
Despite being apart from his kids, the trio was still on Brady’s mind.
“Thankful for this crew ❤️,” he captioned an Instagram Story of his kids Thursday. “Happy Thanksgiving 🦃.”
