A transgender woman has been accused of raping his stepfather, biting off his ears and gouging out his eyes in a brutal attack.
The 61-year-old man fell from a third-floor balcony, allegedly in an attempt to escape.
Aurora Naomi La Fey, 31, was arrested in Manaus, Brazil, and claimed to have been suffering hallucinations after smoking cannabis.
The trans woman also claimed to have been motivated by the German stepfather's refusal to accept his new "gender identity".
Surgeons were forced to remove both of the 61-year-old's eyes as a result of the devastating injuries he received.
Detective Cicero Tulio said his ears were bitten in the attack and were now missing.
The man returned home at 2pm on September 16 after running errands earlier in the day.
There, he found the trans woman waiting for him, allegedly only wearing a towel, according to Brazilian outlets.

Police also allege that La Fey's fingers were pushed into the man's eye sockets.
The 61-year-old man was sexually assaulted after losing consciousness during the attack, investigators have said.
La Fey has denied rape, but investigators are now awaiting on forensic results to confirm the allegation.
After he came around, he fled to the balcony despite having lost his vision.

He then plummeted onto the roof of a neighbouring property in the Planalto neighbourhood before he was later rescued.
The man described the attack as "satanic", Brazilian outlets reported, citing a police statement.
Emergency crews rushed him to the city's Joao Lucio Hospital after the attack at around 1pm on Tuesday.
The trans woman allegedly claimed to have smoked a "particularly potent" strain of cannabis earlier that day.
Brazilian police said: "We are facing an episode of extreme violence, in which the victim was attacked inside their own home and suffered exceptionally serious injuries.
"The investigation was conducted with priority from the very beginning, allowing for the identification of the suspect and the request for preventive detention, which was subsequently granted by the judiciary."
The civil police have now arrested La Fey on suspicion of attempted aggravated homicide and rape.
Police will consider the victim's difficulty in defending themselves and cruelty as aggravating factors in the case.
