Actor Vincent D’Onofrio has jumped to the defense of his Daredevil co-star Deborah Ann Woll after an X user called out her skins in God of War Laufey.

Woll plays the lead role in Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming God of War Laufey, which follows Kratos’ second wife Faye following her death at the beginning of the 2018 Norse reboot.

Ever since the game was announced, it has drawn plenty of criticism online. Creator of the series David Jaffe even slammed the reveal as “dull,” saying that “this is not God of War.”

On September 28, the pre-order bonuses and Deluxe Editions were revealed, showing off a couple of new in-game outfits for Faye. However, some online even took issue with these.

One X account shared images comparing two of Faye’s armor sets and called for fans to “boycott” the project. “They would rather go bankrupt than give you an ounce of female attractiveness,” the post read.

The post caught the attention of D’Onofrio, who starred alongside Woll in Marvel’s Daredevil as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. He made it clear he strongly disagreed with the criticism, while offering a glowing assessment of his former co-star.

“Not that you asked, but… In no way do I agree with you. Deborah is beautiful and extremely talented,” he replied. “She is as smart as a whip and a complete nerd. Also incredibly kind.”

He went on to describe Woll as “a good friend” before revealing that he is looking forward to Laufey himself.

“I am a fan of God of War. I for one cannot wait to play the new game with my son,” he added.

Woll has previously addressed some of the negative reactions to her role in Laufey, saying she is “totally unbothered” by the criticism. Meanwhile, Christopher Judge, who plays Kratos in the series, reassured fans that the game is “a banger.”
