Watch the moment police officers in South Wales chase down a drug dealer after posing as a food delivery driver.

Nahro Gharib, 25, was spotted by patrolling officers while appearing to conduct a suspicious exchange on the street.

The man from Cyncoed, Cardiff, disguised himself as a Deliveroo courier to deal drugs before officers caught him in the act.

Body-worn camera footage released by the force captured the moment officers confronted Gharib, who had been using the food delivery uniform as cover for his drug dealing operation.

During the encounter, Gharib insisted to officers: "It's a legal bike, I swear to God".

He then bolted from the scene in an attempt to escape on foot, sparking the high-speed chase on foot.

Officers gave chase and swiftly detained him, after which they conducted a thorough search of his Deliveroo bag.

When police stopped him, they discovered cannabis and cocaine stashed inside his thermal delivery bag.

Hidden inside a large yoghurt tub within the thermal carrier, police found multiple bags of cannabis.

A separate compartment in the bag yielded a quantity of cocaine.

The body-worn camera footage shared by the force documented the entire sequence, from the initial stop through to Gharib's failed attempt to evade capture and the subsequent drug recovery.

Examination of Gharib's e-bike revealed it could reach speeds of 59.2mph — nearly four times the 15.5mph legal limit for such vehicles, rendering it illegal for road use.

He pleaded guilty to five charges - possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possessing cannabis with intent to supply, supplying cannabis, acquiring and possessing criminal property in the form of cash, and operating a motor vehicle on public roads without third-party insurance.

Inspector Tim Ursell from South Wales Police has previously said that the use of illegal e-bikes put "pedestrians and road users at serious risk".

He said: "Unlawful use of e-bikes and e-scooters is not only illegal but also puts pedestrians and road users at serious risk.
