In a short clip posted to X on March 5, 2025, Donald Trump can be seen during his iconic ‘Trump dance’ at a charity event. The president was attending his daughter, Lara Trump’s puppy auction, which was designed to benefit abandoned animals. Trump’s iconic dance, performed with both fists in the air, has become a signature move that the president often deploys at events.
The clip produced a positive reaction on social media. Many users expressed their support for the president. This situation is similar to another moment when Trump and his wife danced together on stage. Trump and Melania made an appearance at the Starlight Ball in DC’s Union Station, where the presidential couple danced to applause.
One user enthusiastically posted, “Honestly, how could anyone not be Pro-Trump? He loves God, America and puts his family first! Honestly, if you can’t see these facts and/or think @realDonaldTrump isn’t the best choice for America in 2024, then, please just …….. ” Another said, “Its honestly quite humorous to read all these mean and deranged remarks on what looks like a very wholesome moment. Look at all the haters folks, they can make their comments. we have 9-0.”

As we reported at the time, Trump, standing on the stage with a microphone, did his iconic fist-pump move as the crowd roared with excitement. Melania, standing right alongside him, was starting to look somewhat tired but did join in. First, she just swayed somewhat with the music as her husband got more into the dance, but soon she was doing a new version of the dance too, moving her arms and hands with the music.
Fortunately, the moment in which Trump and Melania did the Trump Dance together on stage as Trump wielded a cake-cutting saber and Melania laughed was caught and reported on shortly after it happened, which makes sense given how iconic and sweet it was. But there was another, similarly sweet moment that went largely missed.
That one came as Trump and Melania made an appearance at the Starlight Ball in DC’s Union Station. Together, they danced in front of the adoring crowd, with Trump in his tuxedo and Melania in her absolutely stunning gown, on a stage featuring the presidential seal. At one point, that dancing included yet another rendition of the Trump Dance.

One account, posting the clip of the Starlight Ball dance moment, said, “Awww….look Melania getting her Trump dance on…🥰🥰🥰” One commenter on that post said, “She’s so proper but you can tell she wants to cut loose. She’s happy.” Another said, “She is too cute. I love her ❤️.” Yet another said, “I love it! They are so adorable! 🙌🤍🇺🇸”
Another account that posted the clip, Rita Pahani, noted that the ball was the last event of a very long day, but they still managed to get their dance moves on and celebrate the meaning of the huge day, saying, “Joy! 45/47 & FLOTUS dancing the night away at the Starlight Ball. Their last event on inauguration day. Good times 🇺🇸 ”
Commenters on that post agreed that Melania had done a great job with the dance. One such commenter, for example, said that she had managed to make the famous, funny dance a good deal more “elegant,” writing, “I love Melania’s more elegant version of the dance!”
Others noted how sweet and fun it was to see the President and First Lady dancing together and having fun, saying things like, “It was amazing to see her so genuinely happy, and smiling, couple goals!,” “I want to see FLOTUS do the golf swing at the end. It would be epic. 😁,” and “A perfect ending to a perfect day. Rita is a big reason why it all came together as well. Thanks for speaking the truth Rita!”
Yet other commenters said things like, “They all seem to be having so much more fun the second time around,” “So good to have some class and elegance back in the office,” “Even Melania looks so much more relaxed …☺️,” and “Is Melania seriously a real person? She looks like if someone put in, “most elegant woman in the universe” into an AI.”
