A fair-goer had part of her scalp ripped off when her hair became caught in a Ferris wheel in India.
Bali Maroti Talikote, 25, was on the ride when her long hair became trapped in a bearing behind her seat at the site in Maharashtra on Friday, NDTV reported.
Graphic video shows the ride moving when the young woman suddenly screams in agony as her hair is violently pulled into the mechanism, tearing away a large chunk of her scalp.
Horrified onlookers rushed to help Talikote, who was one of the thousands of people, largely women and children, who had gathered to attend the one-day festival connected to a nearby temple.
A Ferris-wheel rider was scalped when her hair became trapped in the mechanism. Jam Press/TIMPolice officers at the scene helped stop the spinning ride and remove the stricken visitor.
She was taken to a nearby hospital in Pusad, where her condition was described as serious.
It is just the latest serious incident involving fairground rides in India in recent months.

Two teenagers and three adults had to be rushed to the hospital after the incident. Footage showed the spinning ride tilting before crashing into a surrounding fence, flinging the riders to the ground.
In April, at least 30 other people also were injured, 10 of them critically, when an overloaded Ferris wheel suddenly collapsed at a fair in Uttar Pradesh.
And in January, at least 14 children were hurt when a giant swing suddenly gave way and slammed into a nearby wall at an annual fairground in Madhya Pradesh.
