Tiakola, a French rapper and singer with Congolese roots, plays Casablanca, Morocco, on Saturday 5 December 2026. The show at the Complexe Mohammed V, a large sports complex in central Casablanca, opens an eight-city tour of Africa. Tickets are sold on webook.com and start at about €32, about US$36, for a seat in the stands.

A voice from the Paris suburbs

Tiakola was born William Mundala on 4 December 1999 in Bondy, a suburb north-east of Paris. His family has roots in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

He grew up in La Courneuve, another northern suburb, in a large housing estate called the Cité des 4000. He is the youngest of eight children.

He first became known as a member of 4Keus, a rap group from that estate. He began releasing solo songs in 2019.

His style mixes French rap with soft, melodic singing. Fans call him La Mélo, a nickname built on the French word for melody.

His first solo album, Mélo, came out on 27 May 2022. In 2023 he recorded two songs with Dave, the British rapper, including “Meridian”.

The concert falls one day after his 27th birthday. His new album, WpointM, was released on 25 September 2026, according to the French music site Soul Addict.

Why the tour starts in Morocco

Tiakola announced the tour on his Instagram account on 8 September 2026. It is his first tour of the African continent.

The French radio station Générations reports eight dates in eight countries, from 5 December 2026 to 4 January 2027.

The Beninese news site Benin Web TV published the full route. After Casablanca come Kinshasa on 17 December, Abidjan on 20 December and Libreville on 22 December.

Yaoundé follows on 26 December and Cotonou on 27 December. The tour then moves to Dakar on 2 January and ends in Praia, Cape Verde, on 4 January 2027.

Morocco is the only North African stop. French is widely used in Moroccan business, media and education, so French-language rap travels easily here.

The venue: a sports complex in the heart of the city

The Complexe Mohammed V is a large sports site in the Maârif district, in central Casablanca. Its centrepiece is the Stade Mohammed V, the oldest football stadium in Morocco.

The stadium opened in 1955 and was later renamed after Mohammed V, the king who led Morocco to independence. It seats about 45,000 people.

It is the home ground of Wydad and Raja, the two big Casablanca clubs, and has long hosted the national team.

The complex also holds an indoor arena for about 12,000 people, an Olympic-size swimming pool and other halls. The stadium was renovated again in 2024 and 2025.

Webook lists the venue as Complex Mohammed 5. The ticket seller has not said whether the concert will use the stadium or the indoor arena.

Tickets, prices and rules

Webook, a ticketing platform with a Moroccan site, is the seller listed for the show. It offers three zones, each in an Early Bird and a Phase 1 price.

Gradins, the French word for the stands, costs about €32, about US$36, at the Early Bird price. Phase 1 costs about €36, about US$41.

VIP costs about €55, about US$62, or about €64, about US$72. VVIP costs about €73, about US$82, or about €82, about US$92.

Webook shows prices converted into the buyer’s own currency, so the exact figure moves slightly with exchange rates. The euro prices above were shown on 1 October 2026.

The conditions are short. Tickets are non-refundable, and transfers between buyers stop one day before the event.

Every child over 3 years old needs a ticket. Food and drinks may not be brought inside. The organiser has not published door times or a supporting act.

Getting there

Most international visitors arrive at Mohammed V International Airport, about 25 kilometres from the stadium. A train links the airport with Casa-Voyageurs, the main city station.

Casa-Voyageurs lies about 5 kilometres from the stadium. From there, a petit taxi, the small red city taxi, is the easiest way to reach Maârif.

Ask the driver to use the meter, or agree the fare before you set off. After a large event, taxis near the venue are busy, so allow extra time.

Visitors from Rabat or Tangier can take Al Boraq, Morocco’s high-speed train, to Casablanca. Late trains back can be limited, so check the timetable before buying.

What to expect on the night

Morocco runs on GMT+1 for most of the year, and December falls in that period. All times on tickets will be in Morocco time.

December evenings in Casablanca are mild but cool, and the city sits on the Atlantic. Bring a light jacket if the show is in the open stadium.

Maârif is a busy commercial district with cafés, restaurants and shops close to the complex. Arriving early gives time for a meal nearby.

Keep phones and wallets close in dense crowds, as at any large event. Arabic and French are the main languages heard in the city, and French works well for practical questions.

A wider moment for live music in Casablanca

Casablanca is the largest city and economic centre of Morocco. In recent years the country has renovated and built stadiums on a large scale.

Morocco hosted the Africa Cup of Nations from December 2025 to January 2026. It will co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal.

A renovated sports complex hosting a French rap tour shows that the same buildings serve culture too. For residents, that can mean more international acts close to home.

Tiakola’s Casablanca night is the first step on a route through French-speaking Africa. The tour ends in Cape Verde in early January.
